"32 Bar Riff" - Music Written by Leonard Reed For All His Shim Sham Shimmy Choruses

Regular price $2.99

Leonard Reed was a prolific songwriter throughout his life. One of his last works was "32 Bar Riff", which he wrote especially to accompany his Shim Sham dances:  The Original Shim Sham Shimmy, The Freeze Chorus, The Shim Sham II, and Revenge of the Shim Sham

As a gift to Leonard, Rusty brought into the recording studio his favorite maestro of 1920s and '30's music, Mr. Dean Mora (http://morasmodern.com). As Rusty was to Leonard's Shim Shams, Dean was to Leonard's compositions. Dean brought in his "Mora's Modern Swingtet" musicians, including the amazing Brian Atkinson on vibes. Dean Mora arranged Leonard's "32 Bar Riff" and the resulting recording is a wonderful testament to Leonard Reed's songwriting ability.

    It's PERFECT!

Leonard Reed created this song in his NINETIES(!) for his Shim Shams, and it just fits perfectly. Years later, I'm still astounded at his never-ending creativity.

Just what I was looking for!

I've looked everywhere for the perfect music to teach the Shim Sham Shimmy and it's variations to my students, and I finally found it!
