THE STORY OF "I CHARLESTON L.A."

"I CHARLESTON L.A." is part of the global "I CHARLESTON THE WORLD" project.  Lindy Hop communities around the world have been posting fantastic videos on YouTube dancing in front of their city's iconic places.  

One day, I was enjoying watching the videos posted by Lindy Hop communities in Paris, Tel Aviv, Sofia, Berlin, Stockholm, when I realized there was not one for L.A.  What?    I thought about it for awhile, and realized it had to be done... someone had to organize it... uh oh... yep, you guessed right... and it turned into one of the most fun projects I ever organized.  What I loved about it most was that it was something people of all levels could join in on.  It wasn't restricted to performers and teachers... as a matter of fact, there were just a few of those, it was mostly students.  I think it came out GREAT!

WHAT WE ACCOMPLISHED

I Charleston L.A. features sixty locations, LOADS of dancers (including Lindy Hop legend Jean Veloz and local celebrity Bill Nye The Science Guy) and is proudly part of the I Charleston The World project. Our goal was to show the world Los Angeles, California's wonderful diversity. We hope you enjoy it!
