Everything about this picture brings me such absolute joy!
First of all, the cast of legendary dancers!
Fayard Nicholas (83 yrs)
Chazz Young (65 yrs)
Frankie Manning (84 yrs)
Miriam Nelson (80 yrs).
Does it get more stellar than that?! I don't think so!
Oh, and then there's me and Peter Flahiff (my dance partner from 1998-2002), with us beaming with the wonder of it all.
Second, Miriam sitting on Frankie's lap like they are a couple of teenagers! This, alone, puts such a smile on my face.
Third, all of us doing our best "Nicholas Brothers hands." Even Fayard!
It's always hard to describe to young people today how extraordinary the Tap Dance and Lindy Hop world was in the 1990s. I feel certain this photo gives a glimpse!
Not only were these legends always the life of any party, they always welcomed young dancers into that party with all of their hearts!
I was truly lucky to know them. So many of them.
