Dear Dance Community,

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, Gov. Gavin Newsom joined state health officials in recommending the cancellation of gatherings of 250 or more people across the entire state, escalating the effort by his administration to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus... The California recommendations ask small events at venues that do not allow 6 feet of space between people should be postponed or canceled.

Therefore, I have made the following decisions*:

1. Rusty's dances are cancelled for March 2020.

2. Lindy by the Sea Classes move to the April 2020 series

(Please note: All series cards are good for one year, anyway, so you'll all have your class credits). There are no classes tonight (Thursday, March 12, 2020).

*Of course, I will be following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and if we need to wait a little longer, we will.

I know that dancing together is one of the things we do that keeps us sane during trying times. To make a choice not to partner dance is mighty.

This message from Gov. Newsom really puts everything into perspective for me, and I hope it does for you, too:

"Each of us has extraordinary power to slow the spread of this disease. Not holding that concert or community event can have cascading effects... The people in our lives who are most at risk - seniors and those with underlying health conditions - are depending on all of us to make the right choice."

The bottom line is we can get through this together. And, I agree with Gov. Newsom, let's watch out for the most vulnerable in our society and make sure they have the resources they need at this time.

Meanwhile, remember, you can keep swing dancing in your life with Youtube (it's a veritable rabbit hole), and you can get our instructional videos and practice at home: RUSTY'S SHOP

I want to thank you all for your understanding, care, and concern,

Let's hope we can meet very soon.

Now, go wash your hands, and don't touch your face!

Stay Healthy, and see you soon

Rusty Frank

And one more thing...

And listen to our Italian grandma... she really knows!
