I really appreciate your feedback on our "New" Newsletter. People love being able to look at it on their PDAs now and appreciated the "back to the top" feature after each section. Most of you said you like to have the class and club info right at the top, and then the fun stuff after (clip, quiz, link, etc). So I've done a little more tweaking this week.

I moved the picture and quote of the week back to the top, as I always thought it was neat to have a quick inspiration right at the get go, and that seemed to be fine with you.

But, do let me know if you have any other thoughts on the order and content. This newsletter is for you!

AN EVENING WITH
90-YEAR OLD LEGEND MIRIAM NELSON
THIS WEEKEND ONLY!

My great friend, Miriam Nelson, decided it wasn't enough to live beautifully to 90, to have her autobiography published... she decided it was time to get on stage herself!

For years, Miriam has been choreographing numbers for television, movies, and nightclub acts, but now it's her turn, and you won't want to miss it!

I'll be at the Saturday night show, and it be wonderful to have a big group of dance fans.

Also, if you don't have a copy of her autobiography yet, "My Life Dancing With The Stars," you can get it there and have her sign it. The book is also available on my WEBSITE, as well as her instructional tap DVD "Play Piano Play". (You can see a preview of that here on YouTube.) Watch Miriam HERE from the 1940s.

THANKS TO OUR LOVELY ASSISTANTS!

We sure had a terrific Balboa Workshop yesterday with over 50 enthusiasts in attendance. Ron and I would again like to give a special thanks to Sally & Michael, who acted as our "Lovely Assistance" and allowed us to have two separate workshops at once, for beginners and intermediates. Everyone seemed to walk away pretty happy.

And, well done to our beginners! We all remember what it was like to learn that basic. Keep practicing and you'll soon be dancing to 250 beats per minute!

MASTER TRACK - 2010

Ron and I are planning on having a Master Track class for January and February 2010. As this course is limited to 6 Leads and 6 Follows, please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to be in this next Master Track - EMAIL NOW.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This eight-week course, developed by Rusty Frank and Ron Campbell, is designed for people who want to bring their dancing to the next level. The focus of the program is on musicality, styling, and individual development. Class size is limited to twelve students, six leaders and six followers.*

Rusty and Ron work with each of the students individually and as a group in a series of exercises and challenges. The students are filmed each week, and the footage is studied as a group (in Lindy By The Sea's traditional upbeat, encouraging, and friendly environment) to examine individual areas of goals and progress. At the end of the eight week course, each student is presented with a DVD of their own dancing to track improvement and set goals for future development.

The class is held from 9-10pm on Tuesday nites, and will start on January 12th 2010. The total cost for all eight weeks of classes is $100/per student, including the personalized DVD.

*Students should be versed in the Lindy By The Sea curriculum prior to this joining this course (Levels 1-3 and at least half of the Track).

1920's CHARLESTON CLASS

For the past two months, a group of enthusiastic students have been learning, practicing, and having a great time with an original Rusty & Ron 1920's Charleston Routine.

They are so excited (read "nervous") about performing it at the club this Wednesday. So remember to cheer loudly and tell them how great they did! Most of them have never performed before.Some of the students have only been dancing swing for a few months, others for a few years. We think they did GREAT!

The Swing Shift Rhythm Club is requesting your participation in bringing some holiday cheer to the many people at our local retirement homes this holiday season. We would like any available dancers to show up and JUST DANCE for an hour or so; no other commitment required.
