On with dance, let joy be unconfined, is my motto; whether there's any dance to dance or any joy to unconfined.

TAKE A LOOK AT OUR REVISED LINDY BY THE SEA SCHEDULE
SCHOOL CLOSED IN MAY!

I can't believe it's already April! That means May is just around the corner, and off I go for another month teaching and touring in Europe. We're going to be closing Lindy by the Sea for one month -- I know, I know... but just think how much you'll look forward to our classes again in June!

The rest of the year's class schedule has been revised, so make sure you look at the new series start dates.

And remember, a brand new beginner series begins THIS Thursday. As always, you are the best word out there for spreading the word of swing!

WELCOME LEVEL 1 AND LEVEL 2 TO THE RHYTHM CLUB THIS WEDNESDAY

We've encouraged them, we've cajoled them, we've bullied them, we've begged them, and we finally managed to get them to all commit to come to the Rhythm Club THIS Wednesday as a class!

Remember what it was like on your first night of dancing? The excitement, the anticipation, the nerves!

But, I know all of you, and you'll be there waiting for these new swing dancers with open-dancing-arms!

BIG LUCKY
ONE OF OUR VERY OWN LEVEL 2/3 STUDENTS

That's right, Paul, a happy student in our Thursday night classes, is the leader of Big Lucky. Let's all make sure to give him a big applause throughout the night (and get him on the dance floor on his breaks, girls).

MY MOM'S ON THE MEND!

Many of you know my mom suffered a major heart attack on February 7th. I thank all of you for your loving support during this time.

I am so happy to tell you that she is doing just great! She feels like her ol' self again, and I have my beautiful, wonderful mom back again.

This picture was taken a week ago at my nieces Bat Mitzvah.

See you on the dance floor!

Camp Hollywood is just around the corner -- L.A.'s greatest swing dance camp and competition. This is something you'll definitely want to attend!

* Wondering what the heck a "gate"is? This was a phrase popularized by 1940's comedian, Jerry Colonna, who would holler it out every time he was introduced on the Bob Hope radio program. It was a friendly salutation to a swing cat (dancer or swing music enthusiast). Basically, we swing like a gate!

JOIN THE FUN!
BUT, WHAT THE HECK IS IT?

Many of you still don't know about our Swing Shift Rhythm Club. It's one of our best kept secrets. Now is the time to get the SSRC "above the radar."

THE SWING SHIFT RHYTHM CLUB (SSRC), founded in 2000 by Rusty Frank's swing dance students, The SSRC has two missions:

1. Having fun! (Fun) 2. Doing good deeds! (Philanthropy)

1. Having fun: Events where swing dancers can socialize and get to know each other outside of class (vintage clothes shopping, going to a dance-related movie, dancing in the park, eating at retro restaurants before a dance, etc.).

2. Doing good deeds: Events where we bring swing dancing to hospitals, senior homes, and community events for the purpose of good deeds, entertainment, and education in the Los Angeles area.

The SSRC is a volunteer club open to the public and the events are organized by its members. There are no dues. Members can attend as many or as few events as they wish.
