By the way, for those of you who are counting, I've been running a weekly Wednesday nite swing dance since May 1998! What's the name of our former location? Let's see how many of you remember!

Won't you join us for our first ever "Ice Cream Social and Dance" at Cold Stone Creamery, in El Segundo, this Sunday after classes (approx 5:30). Our current students, Tracey and Rick, own this particular store, and we thought it would be fun to have an "End of Series Party" there. Bring some ice-cream change ($$) and your out-door dancing shoes -- they've promised to have swing music playing! Here's the address: 130 E Grand Ave, El Segundo, CA 90245. The eight-week course focuses on your own dancing. Each week, Rusty and Ron will be working with each of the students individually and as a group in a series of exercises and challenges. The students will be video taped each week, the tapes will be studied as a group (in Lindy By The Sea's traditional upbeat, encouraging, and friendly environment) to examine individual areas of goals and progress. At the end of the eight week course, each student is presented with a dvd of their own dancing to track improvement and continue with on-going skills.
This course will start up every eight weeks. The total cost for all eight classes, and the dvd is $100/per student, and includes a personal dvd of your work throughout the course. What a value!
Here's the first Master Track, 2006. They surprised us by dressing up for their final class.

TAUGHT BY PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS RON CAMPBELL & RUSTY FRANK
Many swing dancers are drawn into the dance because they one day hope to do those flying aerials (that's how I started!). They look so fun, and they are so fun. However, they take a lot of work and need to be done safely. So we are starting off our first '06 Aerial Workshop with introductory aerials that the average fit dancer can do.
Ron and Rusty are no different. AND they have studied with the world's leading instructors of this specific swing dance genre. They focus on safety first. Just as in their classes, you will be taken step by step through the elements of each of these aerials. (Of course, you will then have to practice these after the workshop to perfect them!)
You will need a partner for this workshop, as we will not be rotating. Find someone you are very comfortable with and is a good match in weight and height for this kind of activity.
Please use your own good judgement as far as your fitness level. Feel free to ask us (me and Ron) whether or not this workshop is a good choice for you.
And, if you have any concern,m consider doing just some of the moves taught int he workshop.
Bottom line, it's gonna be safe and were gonna have a blast!
So mark your calendars now -- Sunday May 21st, 11am-1pm.
