LET'S BRING IN THE NEW YEAR -- DANCING!

As a new year is ushered in, I smile in anticipation of all the wonderful dancing that awaits us in classes at Lindy By The Sea, at the dances at Rusty's Rhythm Club, and the extra events throughout the year.

Ron and Gio and I are full of (as Bill Elliott would say) "Pep, Vim, and Verve" for a new and wonderful year.

Ron and I will be debuting a new series for our more experienced Lindy Hoppers... so stand by for further announcements on that program which begin in February.

At the Rhythm Club we are excited about the bands booked already, and if you have any personal favs, don't hesitate to let me know. We are especially excited as we have booked Mora's Modern Swingtet for the third Wednesday of each month, and Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five featuring Hilary Alexander for the fourth Wednesday of each month.

Rhythm Club theme nites. Many of you have asked for theme nites to add to the fun. I would love to hear your ideas.

And, of course, workshops! We are planning on having one workshop each month starting in February (to let everyone get their feet back on the ground after the holidays).

And speaking of "after the holidays", take a look at two brand new classes starting on Tuesday nite January 10th.

Well, what can I say except, let's dance! And dance! And dance! And dance!

Yes, it's that time again, "The First Wednesday of the Month" when we have our Beginner Swing Dance Class at the Rhythm Club. We offer this super easy class for those who just want to check out the scene. Maybe they're not sure enough about swing dancing to sign up for a full 4-week Lindy By The Sea course yet... This class is just meant to give them a "taste" of the dance and the people, the environment, so to speak. Let all your co-workers, friends, relatives, and others (?) know about it. Oh yes, this is also a nice class for our shy beginner students who have been trying to get up their nerve o come to the Rhythm Club. Take the class and you'll meet a bunch of people right off the bat.

NEW DVDS TO BE INTRODUCED IN 2006!
RUSTY & RON AND THE TRACK

ORDER YOUR SET TODAY AND SAVE!!!

You asked for it, you got it:

"The Track Series DVD Set"

We are so excited, our Track Series DVD set is nearly completed. Shot in December '05, in the final stages of production, and it looks great. We are thrilled with the results.

THE TRACK SERIES

"The Track Series" was developed by Rusty Frank and Ron Campbell in 2005 for the experienced Lindy Hopper. "We wanted a program that included just about every move a Lindy Hopper would want to know!" It's turned out to be a sensational program, so much so, that Lindy By The Sea students insisted Rusty & Ron make correlating DVDs.

The six DVD set matches the 6-month program that Rusty and Ron teach at Lindy By The Sea. Each Track is color coded and contains stand alone moves. In other words, students can choose any or all of the DVDs.

Each Track contains curriculum covering variations of the following moves: Swingouts, Charleston, Sugar Pushes, Slides, Boogie Steps, Hollywood Style, Savoy Style, Related Dances (1920s Charleston, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag), Styling, and Stop Reverses.

SAVE $$$ BY PRE-ORDERING!

The Track Series is a 6-DVD set. Each DVD is regularly priced at $30. Buying all six would cost you $180, but we are offering an early bird discount price of $100. Pre-order now and save $80! Order one for yourself and a friend.

ALL SIX DVDS FOR $180 $100 WHEN YOU PRE-ORDER

WHAT THE LEGENDS ARE SAYING ABOUT RUSTY & RON'S TRACK SERIES DVDS

John Mills:

"You'll be greatly pleased by Rusty & Ron's instruction. They are smooth and clean dancers, and very, very talented."

Jean Veloz:

"It's wonderful, it's outstanding! Rusty & Ron do such an excellent job of teaching and just putting it out there. My gosh, it's great!"

THE TRACK SERIES DVD Okay, third time's the charm. We thought if we mentioned this dvd enough, you would go and look at our Track Series DVD page! Aren't we clever?

Swing Shift
www.swingshiftontap.com

* Wondering what the heck a "gate"is? This was a phrase popularized by 1940's comedian, Jerry Colonna, who would holler it out every time he was introduced on the Bob Hope radio program. It was a friendly salutation to a swing cat (dancer or swing music enthusiast). Basically, we swing like a gate!

JOIN THE FUN!
BUT, WHAT THE HECK IS IT?

Many of you still don't know about our Swing Shift Rhythm Club. It's one of our best kept secrets. Now is the time to get the SSRC "above the radar."

THE SWING SHIFT RHYTHM CLUB (SSRC), founded in 2000 by Rusty Frank's swing dance students, The SSRC has two missions:

1. Having fun! (Fun) 2. Doing good deeds! (Philanthropy)

1. Having fun: Events where swing dancers can socialize and get to know each other outside of class (vintage clothes shopping, going to a dance-related movie, dancing in the park, eating at retro restaurants before a dance, etc.).

2. Doing good deeds: Events where we bring swing dancing to hospitals, senior homes, and community events for the purpose of good deeds, entertainment, and education in the Los Angeles area.

The SSRC is a volunteer club open to the public and the events are organized by its members. There are no dues. Members can attend as many or as few events as they wish.
