December 14TH 2005
Please excuse me for not writing a full newsletter this week. As you know, my dear friend, Fayard Nicholas, has been in the hospital for two weeks now and I have been helping his wife throughout this time. I'm pretty well beat, and way behind in emails to all the queries about him and just general emails. So thank you for your understanding.
My website is current with all our Lindy By The Sea and Rhythm Club activities... so you can check there for any specifics -- dates, times, places, etc.
We have a wonderful line-up at Rusty's Rhythm Club for the remainder of 2005, so we hope to see you there these next weeks releasing some of the holiday stress buildup! (scroll down for schedule), or
Tonight, in addition to our Beginner Swing Dance Class from 7:30-8:00 and DJ lineup, we may have a special guest -- legendary tap dancer, Jeni LeGon. She was featured in my book, TAP! The Greatest Tap Dance Stars and Their Stories 1900-1955, and was the only woman to partner Bill Robinson in a feature film. You will love to meet her, and she will love to meet you -- she is another one of these timeless, life-filled dancers. (Chester Whitmore will be bringing her... so watch out!). You can read about Jeni here: http://www.thehistorymakers.com/biography/biography.asp?bioindex=798&category=entertainmentMakers
Back to Fayard -- thanks to Maxwell DeMille: He has added a nifty film short of the Nicholas Brothers from their younger days on my Fayard Nicholas update and how-you-can-help page. Thanks to all of you for all your cards and donations and helping to spread the word, the Nicholases are out of debt and have money in the bank.
If you would like to go to the Fayard page:
Hope you are all doing well.
See you on the dance floor,
