If it's your birthday this week, just let us know at the Rhythm Club so you can get your birthday dance!
The response has been great for our "Swing!" Show booth. Thanks to everyone who has set up to volunteer at our booth. There are still a few dates open for you to volunteer in exchange for a free ticket to the opening nite performance on February 14th, 8:00pm.
If you would like to volunteer at our booth, give Rusty a call: 310 606 5606.
We already have about 30 people coming opening nite. So why not come along and join the Valentine's group! 310 606 5606.
And remember, you can also get 1/2 priced tickets by calling the box office and saying you are on "Rusty's List". 310 372-4477
DINNER BEFOREHAND: We're also talking about having dinner together somewhere before the show (and after the Huell Howser event below. Any ideas? Here's the LINK for the show.
Huell Howser/California Gold will be filming "at random" around the fort - We thought it would be fun to have a bunch of retro-dressed swing dancers hanging around. Wanna have some fun? And maybe get on television (your one second of fame).
Questions? RSVP? contact Jes email@example.com or 310-372-4821 (LMM)

We got a call last week from James Blackman, Executive Director of the Civic Light Opera, offering yet another wonderful publicity chance for us. He said he wanted to GIVE us the full-page color ad at the back of the souvenir program of "Swing!". But I needed to get the art to them right away. Robin Campbell (Rhythm Pal Ron Campbell's wife, and Ryan Campbell's mom), came over with baby slung over her shoulder, sat down at the computer, and voila! designed a beautiful ad for us. Thanks, Robin, you are amazing!
Rick Joswick and his magnificent fellow players, known as Jumpin' Joz, were in fine form last week at the Rhythm Club. One of the club's favorite bands kept everyone on the floor for three hours of dancing pleasure. Rusty was able to procure some copies of their latest cd if you need one for your collection: http://swingshiftontap.com/ontap.asp
It was great to have Rudy Flores back at the club! He'd been out with the flu for a couple weeks. Welcome back, Rudy!
RevampVintage.com: One of the most commonly asked questions we get is "Where do I get great vintage-style clothes?" One of our favorite stops is "Revamp". Miss Annamarie Firley is an absolute geneous at recreating danceable clothes from the 1910s-1950s. If Rusty's wearing it, it's probably Revamp! Take a look!
* Wondering what the heck a "gate"is? This was a phrase popularized by 1940's comedian, Jerry Colonna, who would holler it out every time he was introduced on the Bob Hope radio program. It was a friendly salutation to a swing cat (dancer or swing music enthusiast).
