LAST WEEK AT THE RHYTHM CLUB
GIO AND GLENN'S BIRTHDAYS AND 1950'S NITE

Last week we  had a terrific evening of birthdays, music, and dancing.  Gio and Glenn got to have their very own birthday dances -- which you can see by the movies below they thoroughly enjoyed!  Our 1950's dress-up was agreat success. Thanks  to everyone who doned the duds!  You all looked fantastic.  We're only sorry that we didn't take a movie of all the girls with twirly skirts twirling their skirts!  Dang!  Can't remember to do everything!

The Hollywood Combo kept everyone swingin' on their debut at The Rhythm Club.  And our very own Will Ryan made his debut with ukuele in hand.  Hey folks, watch out for more, more,  more of Will's artistry.  This week we 'll be doing our swing polka to his Elmo Aardvark tune.  And we all  Balboa-ed  the fastest yet in  our Monday night class to his Elmo tune -- "When The Cat's Away."  You're something else, Will!

PRIVATES WITH RUSTY

If any of you would like to have a private swing dance lesson, give Rusty a call at 310.606.5606.

MAXWELL'S AT THE ARGYLE: We'd like to say a special congratulations to our pal, Mr. Maxwell DeMille, the classiest vintage-style club host we know.  And what are these special accolates for?  He's celebrating his one-year anniversary of "Maxwell's at the Argyle." Well done, kid!  This snazzy nite spot sits high atop the Sunset Strip in the historic Art Deco Hotel Argyle.  For one year, Maxwell has been bringing the finest in art deco swing entertainment to our Los Angeles dance scene.  And this coming Monday he plans on topping it all off by hosting a smashing party, invtiing all the previous performers to entertain. This includes our very own Rusty, who will be tap dancing to Mora's Modern Swingtet. Come along, cheer her on, give Maxwell a rousing "hoorah," and generally enjoy yourself! Congrats, again, Maxwell!  In the vernacular, "You're swell!

Swing Shift
http://www.swingshiftontap.com

Wondering what the heck a "gate" is?  This was a phrase popularized by 1940's comedian, Jerry Colonna, who would holler it out every time he was introduced on the Bob Hope radio program.  It was a friendly salutation to a swing cat (dancer or swing music enthusiast).
