"ALOHA" PARTY FOR PETER!!!
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH 2002 -- AT THE RHYTHM CLUB
Mark your calendars and plan on coming down to join us for our annual
Rhythm Club Holiday Party! This year's party will be extra-special as
we give it an unusual theme -- "ALOHA!" That's right, it's
summertime-luau-Hawaiian-themed-party as we bring a little of the
tropics to the dead of winter! Come in your wildest Hawaiian-themed
clothes and give Old Man Winter the swingin' boot for a night...WHY
Our dear friends, Nathalie and Yuval, dance champions and team leaders of the multiple-award-winning Lindy Hop performance team "Hop, Swing and a Jump" from New York, will be making an exclusive Southern California appearance, teaching classes at a workshop produced by Jerry Jordan and Chandler Smith -- the Retroglide Dance Society! Don't miss this opportunity to study from two of the most sought-after lindy hoppers and performers in THE WORLD!!! For all the details on this incredible and rare event, check out the website over at Retroglide at : http://www.retroglide.com/events/workshop.asp !
This holiday season, why not give your loved ones something they've always wanted...swing! Whether it's a series card, good for four weeks of great dance classes with Lindy By The Sea, or maybe some passes to the Rhythm Club on Wednesday nights, it's a gift that really fits all! You can even set up some private lessons with Rusty -- what a terrific present for the swing dancer in your life! Just email us at email@example.com, call 310 606 5606 or personally ask for any of these things at any Rusty and Peter event, and we'll be more than happy to take care of you!

-- SOLEMATES: The Century in Shoes -- What an AMAZING website this is!!! Heartfelt thanks go out to our dear friend, Lovelynn VanderHorst, for sending us this incredible link, and boy are we thrilled to be passing it on to you. Quite simply, this is an incredible multi-media tour of the history of footwear from 1900 to the 1990's. Incredible images, terrific quotes, fascinating vintage film clips, and...shoes, shoes, shoes! For those of you with a weakness for pretty footwear already, this will be a trip to the candy store. For those of you who don't have this fascination yet, prepare to be converted! Take a look at this lovely site and be prepared to spend some time there learning and drooling. Click here: http://www.centuryinshoes.com/
See you soon!
*Wondering what the heck a "gate" is? This was a phrase popularized by 1940's comedian, Jerry Colonna, who would holler it out every time he was introduced on the Bob Hope radio program. It was a friendly salutation to a swing cat (dancer or swing music enthusiast).
