Nathalie Gomes started dancing in France at the age of 11 and teaching at the age of 15. During her teens, she became a French Champion and World Finalist. She moved to New York in 1994 with her dancing experience and a Masters Degree in International Relations. She founded Hop Swing & A Jump (HSJ) in 1998 as a company offering swing dance instruction and entertainment. In May 1999, she opened Hop Swing & A Jump dance studios in Soho. Today, she directs HSJ & coaches the HSJ performance team along with Yuval Hod. Together, Nathalie and Yuval appeared on the “Swing Broadway Show” and hold the 2000 NYC Finest Social Swing Couple title. They are the currrent American Lindy Hop Champions, Showcase division and US Open champions, Lindy Hop division. They also direct Hop Swing & A Jump Dance Team - the first to win the American Lindy Hop Championship, Team division two years in a row. Hop Swing & A Jump is also the first Lindy Hop team to win the US Open (2000) in 18 years of existence.
Famous for her gravity-defying aerials, Nathalie performed on various TV shows such as the Today Show, Good Morning America, the CBS Early Show, Donny and Marie, at Lincoln Center and for major companies such as Sony, Samsung and British Airways. She choreographed a number for the CD release party for Will Smith's "Willenium" on Times Square. On New Year's Eve 2000, she performed with Yuval at "America's Millennium" along with Will Smith, an event produced by Quincy Jones and Steven Spielberg for The President of The United States, The First Lady, and millions of television viewers.
Yuval Hod:Yuval Hod came to NYC in 1991 straight from the paratroopers unit in the Israeli military to study acting with Uta Hagen. Yuval has acted in several films including a lead role in Swing City where he combined both his talents in dance and acting. Yuval comes from a street Latin dance background but very quickly got into swing. He won the 1999 American Lindy Hop championship, Showcase division with his partner Jennifer as well the 1999 Dance Champions Series at the Madison Square Garden. Yuval performed on various TV shows such as the Today Show, The View, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight and MTV. Most recently, he performed for the NY Knicks and on New Year's Eve, at "America's Millennium" along with Will Smith, an event produced by Steven Spielberg and Quincy Jones for The President of The USA and The First Lady. Together with Nathalie Gomes, he directs Hop Swing & A Jump.
