demand, we are offering a two-hour workshop devoted entirely to 1920's
partnered Charleston. You've probably been seeing the occasional
couple break out in this great vintage dance and been yearning to learn
it yourself. Well here's your chance!
We'll be starting
at the very basic with the unique footwork associated with '20's Charleston.
Then we'll move on to a series of fun moves, all sociable, to lead/follow
on the dance floor.
guest Rhtyhm Pal for the afternoon is Ryan Roemer. You've seen him
Charleston with Rusty at the Rhythm Club, but now here's a little bit about
began swing dancing in 2000 and has been a fanatical social dancer ever
since in both Los Angeles and San Diego. He also travels regularly
to hunt down swing wherever it might be found.
learning Lindy Hop and Partner Charleston from
and Jeremy Otth, Ryan has since studied with Marcus Koch & Barbl Kaufer,
Rusty Frank & Peter Flahiff, and many others.
On the down
tempo, Ryan enjoys dancing Lindy Hop (smooth, savoy, blues, and hip-hop
fusion styles). On the up tempo, he dances Partner Charleston and
Balboa. Ryan loves the energy and connection of Partner Charleston,
as well as the "vintage feel" of dancing one of the precursors of Lindy
needed. All levels welcome.
